Meeting David Hopper

David Hopper

David Hopper and I first met on a Friday at Pranoto’s art gallery. At the time Pranoto, who is quite an accomplished flute player and maker, was hosting a regular Friday afternoon jam session. On one particular afternoon David Hopper was present playing some wonderful keyboard melodies and rhythms. We began talking and I asked what brought him all the way to Bali from England. He informed me that he was a painter and when I found that he was very fond of working in water colors I asked if we could meet some later date. Soon after we met at his home for proper english tea and a private art show. It was at this time that I picked out a few pieces and informed David that I wanted to work with him in JL Galleries. Not long after David Hopper made his JL Galleries debut at the 2008 ‘An Evening of Art’. Further, we are looking forward to a bright future of success together.
